HOW TO PLAY

Learn the basics of our card game, from getting started to building your collection. This guide has everything you need to dive in and enjoy!

What is Discord?

Discord is a versatile online platform designed for communication and collaboration. Originally created for gamers, it has grown into a hub for communities of all kinds. It combines text, voice, and video chat features into a single, easy-to-use app that works on both desktop and mobile devices.

For our card game, Discord serves as the central hub where everything happens. Here’s why it’s essential:

Community Connection
Our Discord server is where players meet, interact, and share their experiences. It’s also deeply tied to our history as a community, originating from the ISML tournament.

Game Integration
The card game bot operates entirely on Discord, allowing you to roll for cards, view your collection, and participate in events directly from the server.

Information and Updates
Stay informed about new features, card releases, and announcements within a vibrant and active community.

If you’re not familiar with Discord yet, think of it as a combination of a chatroom, a social media space, and a meeting place all in one. It’s free to join, simple to use, and the best way to connect with us and start your card-collecting journey.

Roll for a card

The roll command is your gateway to collecting unique and exciting cards in our game. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you understand how it works, even if you're new to Discord.

Step 1: Use the Command
To start rolling for cards, use the /ISMLroll command in the designated Roll Channels on our Discord server.

Make sure you’re in the right channel (e.g., #rolls-standard / #roll-focus-BANNER) depending on what cards you're aimning for. Feel free to ask in #card-discussion if you have any questions.

DON'T WASTE YOUR PREMIUM ROLLS RIGHT NOW!!!
Make sure your prompt don't look like this -> "
ismlroll roll-type:Premium"

Step 2: Choose Your Roll Type
You can select from three types of rolls:

Daily Roll (Free once every day):
Everyone gets 4 free roll daily.
Reset happens at 1:00 AM UTC+0.

Premium Roll (Paid or Special events):
Costs a premium roll ticket, purchasable in the shop or obtainable through special events.

Lowroll (Special Roll):
A unique rolling option which prevents you from rolling rainbow cards.

Step 3: View the Results
After rolling, the system does the following:

Checks Eligibility: Ensures you have the resources (like tickets) needed for your chosen roll type.

Selects a Card: Based on luck and the active banner, a card is chosen for you.

Displays the Outcome: The result will be revealed, showing:
The card's rarity (e.g., Rainbow, Gold, Silver).
Whether the card is new or a duplicate.
Any bonus items earned (e.g., event coins or other in-game currency)

Step 4: Claim Your Card
Once the roll is complete:

The card is added to your collection.
Bonus rewards (if any) are credited to your account.

Pro Tips for Beginners

Daily Rolls are Free: Don’t forget to use your daily roll before it resets!

Banners Matter: Some channels have special banners that offer unique cards—roll in the appropriate channel for the banner you want.

Keep an Eye on Events: Events often provide extra rewards or bonuses for rolling.

By following these steps, you’ll quickly get the hang of rolling for cards and building your collection. If you have any questions, feel free to ask the #cards-discussion channel.

View your Collection

The ISMLcollection command lets you view your collection or another player's collection of ISML cards.

This command should only be used in the #command-spam channel on our Discord server. Make sure you're in this channel before trying to execute the command.

To view your collection, use the command:
/ISMLcollection

Sorting and Filtering Options

You can sort your collection by:

Rarity > Name: Arranges cards by rarity and then alphabetically.
A-Z: Displays cards in alphabetical order.
ID: Shows cards by their unique ID.
Category: Groups cards by category.

Filters allow you to customize the view further:

All: Displays your entire collection.
Compare All: Compares your collection with another user’s.
Cards You Don't Have: Highlights cards you’re missing.
Cards You Have: Shows only the cards you own.
Duplicates Only: Displays cards you have more than one of.

Additionally, you can focus on specific rarities like Rainbow, Gold, or Silver. For example, use /ISMLcollection sort:Rarity > Name show:Owned rarity:Rainbow to see only Rainbow cards you own.

Viewing the results
After running the command, your collection will appear as a series of embeds. Each page contains details such as the card's name, rarity, and any duplicates. You’ll also see your current in-game currencies (like Dango and Melonpan) and your remaining daily rolls. Navigate through the pages using the Previous and Next buttons to explore your full collection.

Tips for effective use
Filters and sorting make it easier to find specific cards, check what you're missing, or focus on a particular rarity. Use the "user" option to view another player’s collection, compare cards, and strategize effectively. Regularly checking your collection helps you track progress and prepare for future rolls.

By mastering this command, you’ll keep your card collection organized and easy to manage. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the #card-discussion channel.

What to do now?

For now you should probably just ask in the #card-discussion channel.

Some things you might want to ask for is how to trade cards and how auctions work.

Another tip is to look through the Card Categories pages to find cards you like.

PRO TIP: Don't spend all your Premium rolls at once! For clarification you should just ask in the #card-discussion channel.
